What goes below your conscious thinking awareness is your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind is the part of the mind that never rests, sleep, or takes a break, rather it is an entity that is creative, safety-seeking, and risk assessing. Our body is operating partially due to the activities taking place in our subconscious mind and it responds to threats involuntarily. Since our subconscious mind is fully awake even when we are asleep, it is responsible for shaping the view of our reality and has a significant influence on our behaviour.

Ways in which your subconscious mind is controlling your life

  1. There is no negative or positive for the subconscious mind

Your subconscious mind cannot differentiate between negative or positive thoughts and emotions. The subconscious mind is a subjective entity and does not rely on reasoning or justification. It uses its guidance system to put thoughts into action as it does not filter the information that comes to it, it simply obeys the thoughts that come to it and acts accordingly. 95% of our brain activity, such as our emotions, decisions, actions, and behaviour, depends on what is going on in our subconscious mind. The majority of your reality is based on the thoughts in your subconscious mind.

  1. It is the most powerful weapon that you possess

Depending on how you harness your skills and thought patterns, your subconscious mind can either become your ally or your biggest enemy. Your subconscious mind is the most powerful weapon that you possess, and it should not be underestimated or taken for granted. It can either inspire you, energize you, and help you achieve the most positive lifestyle. On the other hand, if you feed negative thoughts to your mind, it can cause problems in your life such as push you into healthy patterns and habits.

  1. Your subconscious mind is the preserver of balance

Your subconscious mind has a component called the homeostatic balance. It maintains a balance among hundreds of chemicals in your cells through your autonomic nervous system. It always keeps your body temperature at 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, it helps you breathe involuntarily, it makes your heartbeat, etc. The functions performed by your physical body is in harmony most of the time because of your subconscious mind. Similarly, your subconscious mind performs the same functions for your mental realm as well. Your behavioural pattern is significantly influenced by your subconscious mind. It makes you think and act in a way that is consistent with what you have already in the past.

  1. Your subconscious mind is your unquestioning servant

Your conscious mind is like the gardener who plants seeds, and your subconscious mind is a fertile garden where the seeds are sown. Your subconscious mind obeys the commands it gets from your conscious mind. There are certain preconceived notions embedded in the subconscious mind that helps you act and behave based on your past experiences and observations. For example, someone who stays in Gurugram and has had a bad experience with traffic would automatically resent going to another place like any shopping centres or wedding venues in Greater Noida because they would believe that no matter the day or time, they will always find traffic. These notions are imprinted in the subconscious mind, and it helps you make decisions daily.

  1. Your subconscious mind is your comfort zone

Since all your thoughts and behavioural patterns are stored in your subconscious mind, it also helps to identify your comfort zones. Your subconscious mind pulls you back to your comfort zone and it makes you feel emotionally and physically uncomfortable whenever you attempt to try something new. Staying in your comfort zone for a long period hampers your creativity and it becomes a rut. Therefore, it is essential to train your subconscious mind to get out of your comfort zone faster and without causing any major shifts.

There are several ways to train your subconscious mind to stay in control and to regulate your life, such as:

  1. Don’t allow doubt to create fear

Do not doubt the process of manifesting positive thoughts. If you create doubtful thoughts in your subconscious mind, then you will manifest fear that will hamper your positive thoughts and behaviour. This creates limiting beliefs in the mind, preventing you from following your dreams.

  1. Create a vision space

You will begin to enact and create a life of your dreams if you hold a space in your mind to imagine the kind of life you want to live. Visualization is helpful in many ways because you will only receive the life that you can envision and imagine.

  1. Identify your resistance

If we hold a conflicting belief, we will end up creating a resistance in our subconscious mind that will stop us from manifesting the life we are looking for. Identify your resistance and fix the issues that are preventing you from meeting your goals.

  1. Develop your writing skills

Our subconscious mind is built in a way that it is constantly absorbing information from all around us and some of the information that goes to the subconscious mind does not even cross the conscious mind. Therefore, it easily grasps information in written and graphical form and allows these ideas to get embedded in the subconscious mind.
